Google Street View comes to the UK

Most people now are very familiar with Google Maps and the satellite images that are available of almost any location in the world. You may have heard in the press recently that Google has now gone one step further with Google Street View.

Google street view actually gives you a 360 degree street level view of many street locations around the world. You can actually move your view through 360 horizontal degrees and 270 vertical degrees. You can then even move forward to different locations.

It has actually been in development since 2007 but has now been expanded to many street locations in the UK, such as London, Cambridge, Birmingham, Liverpool and other major cities.

It has caused a bit of controversy though with some people not being too happy about being visible on the images, and others concerned that criminals will be able to use the site.
